Unique Post-Wedding Phenomenon: Site Scraps from Taylor Swift's Wedding Sell Out Online
The global excitement surrounding the wedding of pop icon Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce has sparked an unusual phenomenon among fans. According to a report by Wolipop, street debris collected outside their wedding venue at Madison Square Garden, New York, has been packaged and sold out as limited-edition memorabilia for dedicated Swifties.
A Conceptual Art Project Turned Celebrity Memorabilia
Following the couple's ceremony on Friday (3/7/2026), local artist Justin Gignac headed to the perimeter of the venue. Dressed in a formal tuxedo and wielding a trash-picker tool, Gignac gathered various discarded items left on the sidewalks surrounding the arena.
The items collected were not official souvenirs, but random artifacts scattered in the public area. The assortment included cigarette butts, bottle caps, straws, pieces of colorful hand fans, disposable cutlery, Ring Pop candies, and even a single AirPod.
Gignac preserved these items inside small, clear acrylic cubes, sealing them tightly. He offered them as part of a specialized art project titled "New York City Garbage: JusT+T Married" and "Not Invited Edition (Taylor + Travis' Wedding)".
Over 1,300 Units Sold Worldwide
Despite the unconventional nature of the contents, demand from fans was overwhelmingly high. Gignac successfully sold out more than 1,300 packaged cubes shortly after launching them.
Each cube was priced at $25 (approximately Rp452,000), with an additional $10 shipping fee for international deliveries. Orders poured in from fans across 30 different countries.
Buyers were not allowed to select the specific items inside their display cubes. However, the artist ensured that every package was properly sealed to prevent leaks or odors.
The Story Behind the Art Initiative
Gignac noted that his retrieval process drew curious looks from bystanders outside the reception venue. Wearing a tuxedo while picking up debris led many passersby to assume he was a wedding guest helping to clean up the streets after the party.
This is not the first time Gignac has transformed urban debris from major events into collectible art. He previously released similar limited-edition garbage cubes following significant public moments in New York City, including the New York Yankees' championship parade in 2009 and the New York Giants' victory parade in 2012.
All units from the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding collection are currently reported as completely sold out.
